L8R - www.l8r.uk.net

‘L8r’ (pronounced ‘later’) is an innovative, interactive educational project on video and the web aimed at 12-16 yr olds. It aims to engage young people in thinking and debate about:

relationships
sexual health
teenage pregnancy and parenthood
related issues including alcohol, drugs and peer pressure
values, attitudes and decision making
identifying local sources of information and support

L8r is unique. It is interactive. It comprises video episodes and a web site where young people vote on dilemmas and ‘advise’ the six featured characters. L8r is a flexible resource. It may be used either as a stand-alone project or alongside existing PHSE/Citizenship schemes of work. It is accompanied by a teaching pack.

The website has an information element with links to other sites and help agencies. We also run regular chat sessions hosted by trained peer mentors. Our experience is that young people find the website and video episodes highly engaging.
